The palm has long appeared across the Indian subcontinent as a motif of abundance, welcome and celebration, moving between architecture, ornament and the decorative arts. Here, its stylised silhouette is reimagined in handblown pink glass. The saturated colour recalls the jewel-like glass of Mughal decorative traditions, while the transparency of the material allows candlelight to move through the form.
