Woven from silk and cotton yarn left over from sari weaving, each Shalini Quilt takes shape differently in the hands of its weaver. Colours are paired instinctively from the yarn available, so no two compositions are quite the same. Shalini Devi Holkar’s name is woven into every piece, making the quilt both an object of use and an acknowledgement of her work with WomenWeave and the weaving community of Maheshwar.
